Dear friends and Healthy Dietpedia readers,

This week I would like to share with you 5 most important steps to successful and healthy weight loss.

I get a lot of questions from people asking me how to lose weight, and saying that they are unable to do so. Once again, anyone can lose weight if he/she approaches it correctly. Patience is the key to success but often we want to speed up the process of weight loss and lose control.

Here is what I have recommended a girl who wanted to lose 20 pound:

“I am glad you found my website. I understand you need to lose 20 pounds. You wrote that you lost 1 pound after 1 day of juice dieting. It seems that you can lose weight; you just need to be patient. Losing weight is harder than gaining it for most of us. It can take a week to gain 5 pounds and 1 month to lose them. The important thing here is not to lose your determination and believe that you can do it, and you certainly can! Just like others, who followed their diet plan and did not allow themselves to get of the diet before they achieved their goal, you can do it too.

First of all, do not aim for fast results. Losing 1-2 pounds a week is the best to ensure that you do not gain your weight back after you are done with your diet. So in order for you to lose 20 pounds you will need at least 10-15 weeks and that is around 3-4 months.

Remember to lose body fat you need to burn more calories than you consume. So it will be a good idea to include exercise into your weight loss plan. You can start with simple medium speed walking for 20 minutes every day.”

So, here are 5 universal steps I recommend you take to lose your body fat:

1. Drink at least 2 liters of pure water every day.

2. Do not eat anything that contains refined sugar: candy, cookies, cakes, sweetened yogurt, sugar in your coffee or tea, soda, iced tea, etc.

3. Eat 5 small meals a day. Each meal should fit in 1 cup.

4. Do not eat 3 hours before bedtime; you can only have water or herbal teas.

5. Exercise regularly.
