Avocado is a very delicious and nutritious fruit that is widely available and is a perfect bas for any diet. If you want to lose few pounds fast and without going on a strict low calorie diet, this avocado diet is perfect for you. Avocado is easily digestible and eating it has no side effect. Many dietitians consider avocado a perfect superfood and many recommend avocado as first solid baby food. It has a very tender creamy texture and taste a little bit like walnuts and pear. In areas south of the border, it's often called the alligator pear because of its shape and dark green roughly textured skin.

It is used in countless amounts of recipes, it can easily substitute butter, and even meat! It is quite heavy in calories but those calories are very nutrient dense and fats found in avocado are very healthy monounsaturated and Omega-3 fats. Besides none of the avocados are genetically modified so you don’t risk buying a Frankenstein food even if you shot at local supermarket!

If your avocado went little dark inside, don’t throw it away. Instead mash it into puree and apply to your face. After 10 minutes wash it off with warm water and feel your skin turn soft and velvety. I love avocado mask so much, I use it twice a week and practically do not need moisturizer anymore. Avocado content is the closest to our skin and the nutrients from avocado get transferred and absorbed into the skin quite well.

Avocado Diet Plan

This is a fast 3 day diet that will be very gentle on your body and will not slow down your metabolism. The result will be a healthier looking skin, better digestion and weight loss up to 5 pounds.

To pick a good avocado, you need to look for softer fruit with undamaged skin. Avocados ripen or soften after they have already been picked from the tree. So if you buy a hard bright green avocado and keep it in a shaded cool place (not refrigerator) for a few days, it will soften up and be ready for you to eat.


This diet has a very limited menu, so be sure not to extend it beyond 3 day period. Optimal healthy diet always implies to eating a wide variety of foods to ensure that your body gets as much nutrients as possible.

Breakfast: Half of the avocado, and 4 oz of plain cottage cheese.

Lunch: Easy to make avocado salad: cut the remaining half of the avocado into cubes and mix it with green salad leafs, tomatoes and 1 egg. Use lemon juice for the dressing.

Dinner: 1 half avocado, 4 oz of plain cottage cheese or yogurt plus 5 oz of grilled chicken or fish.

Make sure you drink plenty of water and for faster weight loss avoid adding salt. Enjoy!
