½ cup of fresh strawberries,
½ cup of lowfat milk or almond milk,
1 teaspoon of honey, ice.
Puree strawberries with lowfat milk and a teaspoon of honey. Add few cubes of ice and blend the smoothie for approximately 1 minute. (100 kcal)
This shake is great for a healthy breakfast or snack. Use fresh organic strawberries to make this drink even more useful!
I sometimes add a handful of dry oatmeal flakes and blend it into the shake. You can’t taste the oatmeal, but it turns this smoothie into a meal that keeps you full for a long time.
And most importantly, my kids love this healthy recipe: it is also one of the first recipes they have learned to prepare.
